#197 From Whiskey To Water
Sunday Oct 02, 2022
Sunday Oct 02, 2022
Today I close the podcast conversations for the year with the legendary Sam Cowen. To many people of my generation Sam needs no introduction she has been a household name since the mid 90s having been part of an unforgettable era of The Rude Awaking. But Sam is much more than that and you will here in this coversation as we cover much of her life journey and work. The coversation is divided into three parts Part 1, we cover her media and radio personality era Part 2 we cover her sobriety journey which led her to writing From Whiskey To Water and ultimately starting her Coaching Practice Part 3 we cover the life coaching space and it's dynamics Sam is incredible funny, I laugh more than I talk in this coversation Bio In her years in the media, Samantha interviewed thousands of people from around the world. These personalities included celebrities, world leaders, authors, artists, students, teachers, criminals, and everyday people. What stood out for Samantha was that everyone had a story to tell, and more importantly was seeking to better understand who they were and how they fit in the world.
Samantha draws on those experiences and insights and has focused her career to helping other channel their energies in the direction of personal growth and success. Samantha sees coaching as a facilitation tool which helps individuals unlock their true potential and make critical life decisions which are often easily ignored in favour of complacency and comfort. Samantha has coached business executives, media personalities, students, and medical professionals, to name a few, to break through the personal barriers and achieve their goals. Samantha is also deeply committed to helping people with addiction challenges to work through recovery and find the value of life without addiction. Drawing on her over 23 years media and presenting experience as a morning radio show co host, Samantha Cowen is well versed in communicating and engaging with people from all walks of life. Sam Cowen is a good choice for fun, interactive and engaging events. Both an irreverent speaker and a fun MC or workshop facilitator.

#195 Happiness In Relationships
Sunday Sep 18, 2022
Sunday Sep 18, 2022
'....But Coach, why can't I expect happiness in my relationship, if he doesn't make me happy, then what's the point.' I got this question from one of my beloved coaching clients a few months ago during our session, and for the first time in my coaching career, I felt that the usual coaching response of 'It's not his job to make you happy' did not suffice. I paused for a while then turned the question on her 'What's the point indeed, what do you think the point of your relationship is?' Her question stayed with me for the rest of that day, I wondered if we coaches and teachers dig deep enough on some of these matters, or do we tend to slide into autopilot and coachiee language and responses. I really wanted to explore this topic further with a fellow coach, and when it comes to relationship matters there is no one better than my friend Jo Ntsebeza. So I called her up and we went for it. Jo and I often go to the very deep end when we converse, this conversation was no different, it has lots of aha moments and deep insights on the nature or relationships, it will irritate and liberate you at the same time. BIO Jo Ntsebeza shows people how to break free from negative relationship patterns & emotional dependency so they can experience deeper love in their lives. Jo is the founder of Love Shift Academy, The Dare To Love Club and the creator of The FreshStart Love Journey. She's worked with leaders, managers and business owners in the SME, corporate, government and the public sector for over 25 years as a speaker, an executive and relationship coach, facilitator and trainer. #192 - What 2022 Is Inviting Us To - With Gogo Joy Mogami
Sunday Jan 30, 2022
Sunday Jan 30, 2022
At the beginning of each year I share my psychic thoughts on what the new year might possibly bring from the spiritual point of view. This year for this episode I felt why not do the session with our beloved spiritual warrior, the oracle herself Gogo Joy Mogami.
In the conversation we dive deep in to the esoteric and spiritual worlds unpacking what the year is inviting all us to. The year 2022 in numerology is the year 6, 6 is the number of the human, also the number of balance and harmony. Gogo Joy deepens on her explanation of what this balance and harmony possibly mean for you as an individual as well as for humanity as a whole.

What better way to start the year than with the transition and change facilitator, aka the unlearning lady! We are living in strange times, the 2021 brought with it the great resignation, where millions of people across the world resigned from their jobs, changed careers, went into entrepreneurship and others just left with nothing on the other side.
In this episode Zanele and I discuss the great resignation, why resolutions don't work, how to change and transition successfully as well as her work as a change and transition coach.
