I am pretty sure you remember your very first period, I am also sure you remember your first sign that you are pregnant... do you know why your remember and know those days. Because they are spoken about, they are part of our everday lives. We know the symptoms and signs and symbolism...
But what about the pauses, the stages we reach after 45? The Peri and Pre Menopause, the Menopause and the Post menopause, why don't we talk about those. Why are we hush hush about those. Are they not part of every woman's life?
Well, in this conversation I am in conversation with the author of The Peri Menopausal Globetrotter... on the very subject Xoli Ka Madlala. Xoli is a 45 year old post menopausal woman who is a passionate advocate of all things menopause.
In this part 1 of our conversation we cover the back story of her writing the book what it took and the experience she had diving and delving into this important subject.

235. Healing The Mother Wound
Sunday Nov 05, 2023
Sunday Nov 05, 2023
There is an inside joke in psychology and the life coaching field that goes:
If it’s not one thing it’s the mother…
Which basically talks to the fact that almost all our issues big or small can somehow be traced back to our childhood and to the mother. Sounds unfair I know but it’s true not because mothers ‘damage’ their children, but rather because the mother is such a pivotal force in a child’s life. She is after all the life giver…
In this episode I am in conversation with Moshitadi Lehlomela, author of the famous ‘The girl who survived her mother’ on Healing The Mother wound.
In the conversation we cover amongst others:
What the mother wound is and how it finds expression, generational patterns of mother wounding, mother wound in relationships, mother wound and money. We also cover Moshitadi’s relationship with her mother and much more.
Bio
Moshitadi is a mother wound recovery coach, author of The girl who survived her mother and Radical Acceptance for childhood adversities.
