Coaching has been an accepted form of self improvement, self empowerment, personal growth and healing since the late 90s. Yet there are still a lot more people who do not understand its importance in their lives. Having coached for over eight years, and also having been coached myself by different coaches for different aspects of my life - I know for a fact that I would not be where I am right now nor can do the things I am able to do in my life.
It is for this reason I invited two brilliant coaches, Bulelwa and Makhotso to have a conversation on coaching. In the conversation we cover a spectrum of topics around coaching from why is it scary for people, the benefits of coaching, different coaching niches, the fees of coaching, the pet peeves of coaches and a lot more.
The conversation is meant to demystify this because helpful and priceless practice of coaching. If you have been apprehensive about coaching. I trust this conversation will shed some light and you will take the plunge to go for it, because trust me, you can only gain from it.
Makhotso Mabote Bio and contacts
Makhotso Mabote is the Founder and CEO of Heartwork ZA. As a self-proclaimed People Enthusiast and Healer at Heart – these are the two passions that she has merged to create Heartwork ZA.
Her interest in people, how they think and what influences the way in which they behave has always been a topic that she deeply enjoyed exploring, which led to her studies in Psychology and eventually Education.
She initially applied her passion for Psychology in the organisational context, which marked the start of a career in Human Capital Management where she worked in Graduate Recruitment and later as a HR Business Partner.
After years in the HR field, she channelled her energy towards education, through her work at an education focused social enterprise. Her deep love for people and development led to her finally heeding the life coaching call and becoming a life coach specialising in the development of early to mid-career professionals. She provides support through holistic life coaching as well as targeted career coaching and professional development strategy creation and implementation with her clients.
She is also an avid lover of tea and cute dog videos on Instagram.
