In this episode I am in conversation with Manti Maifadi and Susan Granger, on returning to the soil through growing our own food.
We begin with how they both came to be organic food growers. Then we cover the basic understanding of why we should be growing our own food. What we mean by organic and the real difference between organic growing of plants and commercial.
We also get into the politics the food we eat, the distance between the food we eat and where it comes from. As well as the controversial and hair matter of The Land.
Probably one of the most important episode yet.

Manti Maifadi
As a child Manti Maifadi used to follow her father everywhere he went – leading to her curiosity about plants and nature. Beyond her father’s influence, her early development consisted of conversations with her grandmother on plants and nature, a peculiar upbringing to anyone growing in the modern world, but very normal as she remembers it. This has led Manti to a life filled with the abundance of nature and a passion of doing things with her hands.
Her resume reads like a script out of a fairytale – with Naledi, a 3 hectors farm named after her youngest child where visitors can find healing by interacting with the land. Manti holds a Masters of Science Degree (Cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand and has more than ten years experience in public health. She is a published author of a children’s book “Tshimong Ya Meroho le Naledi” and a published author in the field of science.
